Speyside Way
Speyside
This immense trail following the snakey Spey River covers a distance of over eighty miles, starting just north of Aviemore and taking you all the way to Spey Bay and Buckie. The trail takes in some truly breathtaking scenery and can be broken into less challenging sections. All routes and sections are of varying lengths and have different levels of difficulty. The riverside trails are comparatively flat and even , whilst the Speyside 'spurs' that take you across Ben Aigan and up to Tomintoul can be surprisingly steep in places. If you don’t fancy turning back on yourself or you just fancy being picked up after completing a section, Craigellachie Cars can be with you in minutes. A Speyside Way Visitor Centre can be found at Aberlour whilst WCs can be found at Craigellachie. The Mash Tun pub in Aberlour and the Highlander Inn in Craigeallchie have both proved very popular with hikers and offers excellent food and drink.
