Speyfest
Speyside
Speyfest was born over a pint of local beer and a wee chat between local musician, James Alexander and Davie Stewart, a member of the Fochabers Gala Committee. It has now been running for over 23 years! Speyfest is a small town folk festival with big ideas, annually organised at the end of July each year. Three days of Concerts, Ceilidhs and Stomps, and features some of the biggest names from the world of traditional and contemporary Celtic music. It all takes place in the beautiful village of Fochabers on the banks of the River Spey in Moray. There are a variety of seated and standing events across the three days as well as the music marathon that is Speyfest Sunday, a craft and food fair with taster sessions and an ecumenical Celtic Kirk service. The event is fully licensed and offers a wide range of hot foods and a variety of drinks from a number of onsite concessions.
